Permission to Play - April 2026

Dates: Second Saturday of each month (February to June 2026)

14^th February, 14^th March, 11^th April, 9^th May, 13^th June

Please note: This booking and payment is for April only, please book other months seperately.

Time: 10.00 am - 3.00 pm

Outline: We often don’t allow ourselves the time to just try new things and experiment with different materials. Permission to play is designed to do exactly that. Each month there will be a different technique or medium to play with. You can come along to each one or you can pick and choose which you would like to attend. There are only 8 spaces per month though, so pre-booking and paying is essential. The cost will differ depending on the materials and techniques involved. Those of you wishing to book for all five dates, a deposit of $5/future workshop will be required to secure your space, this will be deducted from your class cost.

Below is a list of what we have planned for April. 

April: $40/person

Batik

-          An introduction to using batik wax as a resist.

-          Practice using wax bowl pens and/or brushes to create patterns.

-          Paint fabric with dyes and once dry remove was resists.

Ice dying

-          Because this is so popular we’ll revisit this and introduce some stitching and binding techniques to extend your knowledge.

-          If it’s your first time, don’t worry, we’ll cover all the basics again as well.
